The University of Lilongwe believes in a holistic education experience. We strongly promote extracurricular activities as a way of developing the many talents that students are endowed with. Towards this end, the University offers a number of extracurricular opportunities including the following sporting activities;

FOOTBALL

The University of Lilongwe Football Club popularly known as “The Monks” have become a force to reckon with in Lilongwe with a record that cannot be rivalled by other Universities in Lilongwe. The team has its sights on competing at the national level by competing with the best in the Super League of Malawi.

BASKETBALL

The University of Lilongwe Archangels are a latest addition to the University sports teams. Currently, ”The Angels” are playing in the Central Zone Basketball League.

Apart from these teams, the university has sporting facilities to promote netball, athletics, tennis as well as volleyball.
