Dr. Peter Stephany is a German national who has been resident in Malawi more than 10 years. He has a lot of passion for Malawi and has contributed a lot to its health system. Dr. Stephany attended his primary school at Hofchensweg’ Aachen, his secondary school at Rhein-Maas-Gymnasium’ Aachen. He served in the Military at Hannover (Sanitatsbataillon) and he did his medical studies at Johannes Gutenberg-University, Mainz. He obtain a Certificate in Radiation protection, Chest and emergency x-rays examinations and a Diploma in Accident and Emergency Medicine Specialist in General Medicine. He is a member of the Medical Council of Malawi.

He served in the Department of Medicine, Zomba Central Hospital, Intensive Care. He was a lecturer in the Department of Medicine, College of Medicine, Blantyre. He served as a Lecturer, Consultant, Project Coordinator in the Department of Medicine, College of Medicine, University of Malawi. He has vast consulting experience with Queen Elizabeth Central Hospital Blantyre, Malawi.

Apart from these portifolios, Dr.Stephany served as the Head of Department/Consultant Medical Specialist Medical Department Zomba Central Hospital, Ministry of Health .He has also worked as the Local Coordinator of CIM-Medical Programme in Malawi (German Development Cooperation). His area of specialization and interest is in Tropical Medicine, Internal and General Medicine which he obtained from Medical Council Rheinland-Pfalz, Germany. He also served as an Advisory Physician to French Embassy in Malawi and has a certificate in Travel Medicine.

He is also a prominent member of the German Society for Tropical Medicine, Munich.
